Manuel studied at UCL (The Bartlett). After graduating, he was employed by RT James & Partners, Consulting Engineers for two years. Here he was the sole in-house architectural consultant for a wide variety of projects, the majority being sports & stadia related projects.
This is where Manuel began his specialist knowledge of stadia design, developing a detailed understanding of stadia regulations. Manuel Nogueira established AndArchitects in 1998 following the commission for the development of The Valley ground for Charlton Athletic FC. Following the success working on several buildings for the London 2012 Olympics, he worked on the Handball Arena for Rio 2016, which will become four separate schools after the games. As well as multi use sports projects, Manuel also has experience in a great number of commercial, high-end residential and luxury resorts. Manuel’s client-led approach to developing both small and large-scale project briefs is fundamental to the success of each individual project. Manuel is a Chartered RIBA Client Advisor.
Manuel was also Chair of the RIBA Small Practice Group for two years and now sits on the RIBA International Committee.
