2017 venue tours
Delegates will be treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of two diverse nearby venues – the Fukuda Denshi Arena and the ZOZO Marine Baseball Stadium:
FUKUDA DENSHI ARENA
Fukuda Denshi Arena (フクダ電子アリーナ), known commonly as Fuku-Ari (フクアリ), is an 8.1 billion YEN football stadium in Chiba City, Japan. Some 30 minutes by train from central Tokyo, the arena was completed in 2005.
Contrary to large venues built in Japan before, this one was planned for J. League scale, and to suit the needs of its tenants, J. League club JEF United Ichihara Chiba (crowds of 15,000+). The Fukuda Denshi Arena has 18,500 seats and 1,281 standings and a full capacity of 19,781.
Originally named Chiba City Soga Football Stadium (千葉市蘇我球技場), Fukuda Denshi, a medical electric instrument manufacturer, won the naming rights after outbidding several other candidates. The location is a former Kawasaki Steel factory site. The first international match was held on 30 May 2009.
ZOZO MARINE BASEBALL STADIUM
The ZOZO Marine Stadium (ZOZOマリンスタジアム), also known as Chiba Marine Stadium and formerly as QVC Marine Field, opened in 1990 and holds approximately 30,000 people.
The official opening of the stadium was on 13 April, 1990, when popstar Madonna opened her Blond Ambition Tour.
The Summer Sonic Festival and Makuhari Messe are held at the stadium every summer.
It is primarily used for baseball and is the home field of the Chiba Lotte Marines. It is also used for Rugby Union.
