Department for International Trade

The Department for International Trade is responsible for promoting British trade across the world and ensuring the UK takes advantage of the huge opportunities open to us.

We are responsible for:
• Developing, coordinating and delivering a new trade and investment policy to promote UK business across the globe
• Developing and negotiating free trade agreements and market access deals with non-EU countries
• Negotiating trade deals (focused on specific sectors or products)
• Providing operational support for exports and facilitating inward and outward investment

The Department for International Trade Sports Economy team works to help UK companies identify and take advantage of the significant export opportunities around global sporting events; and also
helps connect international buyers to UK expertise. The team works closely with the DIT network based in the British Embassies across the globe to help connect UK companies to opportunities and relevant stakeholders.
